Tata Cars: Tata cars, including EVs to get costlier from Feb 1: Here’s by how much |

Tata Motors has announced a price increase of 0.7 percent on average across its entire range of passenger vehicles, including electric vehicles (EVs). The hike, effective from February 1, 2024, aims to partially offset the growing input costs faced by the company.
While the exact increases for each model haven’t been disclosed, Tata Motors indicates a weighted average rise of 0.7 percent, depending on the specific variant and model.
This means popular Tata models such as the Tiago, Nexon, Harrier, and Safari will see a hike in their price tags. Even the recently launched Punch EV, which debuted with an introductory price tag of Rs 11 lakh, ex-showroom, is likely to be not exempted from the increase.

At present, the company sells a host of ICE cars in India, along with maintaining a dominant position in the growing electric vehicle market with segment leading models such as the Nexon EV. The manufacturer recently updated the Nexon range, Safari, and Harrier SUVs.
This decision to increase prices follows Tata Motors’ earlier move in April 2023, where it raised prices for its passenger vehicle (PV) range by around 0.6%, effective from May 1st.
The company has recorded a 9% growth in its overall passenger vehicles (PV) sales, inclusive of electric vehicles, in the domestic market. The sales reached 43,470 units in December 2023, compared to 40,043 units in December 2022.
